It’s spring, right?! After the crazy snowstorms and wacky weather everyone has seen this winter, we’ll all even be open to a little spring cleaning if it just means SPRING.

Oh, and we’re not just talking your house getting spring cleaning — your website needs it, too! Your clients will thank you when your website is clean and organized.

Spring Cleaning Tip #1 – Keep an even balance of images + wording

Your clients will immediately feel like your business is as put together as your website! That doesn’t mean your website can’t have a spunky personality. It just means that everything is easy to digest, not difficult to locate information, and no overwhelm when they’re on it.

Spring Cleaning Tip #2 – Properly credit and ask for permission on photos

If the photos on your website are not yours, you better make sure you have permission from the person it belongs to! Don’t get yourself in legal trouble over an image or two. We’ve seen it happen to a few bloggers and it ain’t pretty…. or cheap!

Spring Cleaning Tip #3 – Make sure your contact information is easy to find

We talked about this a bit a few weeks ago, but making sure your contact information is super easy to find is very important. Don’t make them play “Where’s Waldo?” to find you!

Spring Cleaning Tip #4 – Get that mission statement front and center on your website

Want your clients to know who you are, what you do, where you’re located and what you specialize in? Your mission statement is exactly that! Show it off in places that your clients will find it easily.

If you’re ready for a complete overhaul of your website, and you’re not sure which website host to go with, check out this blog post that gives you video sneak peeks of both Squarespace and Showit! It’s a fun and unique way to watch us be hands-on in the platforms, doing common “spring cleaning” tasks!
