New Brand + Showit Website Launch — Spoon Photo & Design in Chicago, Illinois

[Reading Time: 3 minutes]

It’s time to show off a new photography brand and website for Michelle of Spoon Photo & Design!

We want to introduce you all to Michelle Weeks — owner, photographer + designer at Spoon Photo & Design in Chicago, Illinois!

Spoon Photo & Design is an event photography and invitation design company in Chicago. Michelle was referred to us by our incredible dream team member, Jennifer Kathryn, and she was SUCH a blast to work with.

Brand Design with Kelsey

Couples can look forward to Spoon Photo & Design being a one-stop-shop for their wedding, with photography and invitation design all here for them. When working with Michelle, expect nothing short of an incredible experience. She has expertise in photography, a beautiful talent for design, and always puts her clients first.

Michelle’s brand design was inspired by the words fun, professional, personable, modern, chic, upscale, moody romance. The moody, romantic vibes of Spoon Photo & Design are felt immediately with these gorgeous colors. Black (#000000), Merlot (#3F192B), Pine (#15382D), and Emerald (#2A5F49). We have lots of emphasis on Black and Pine throughout your brand, with the third in line being Merlot!

This logo is the perfect definition of “moody romance” — with dark, rich colors. And while it does give off the vibe of chic, you also get all the fun feels with the script font!

Website Design with Britt

Michelle’s website is hosted on Showit! In the website design, we start with a landing page to show off both elements of the Spoon Photo & Design brand; photography and design!

The photography part of the site starts with a large slideshow of images, with descriptive phrases to capture the emotion of your ideal client right away. The further down in the design you go, there is a beautiful balance of white space, mixed with the deep brand colors. We begin to build the trust from your ideal client by showing them testimonials. From there, we show them the photography specialties of Spoon Photo & Design. At the bottom, we round everything out by reminding them about the stationery design page.

The design part of the site starts similarly with a large slideshow of images and descriptive phrases to capture the emotion of your ideal client. This page shows off your gorgeous design work that is now being brought back into your brand, and rounds out at the bottom with bringing them to the photography page.

Now, let’s see Michelle’s new brand…. ready!?

Congratulations, Michelle!!

PS: Are you feeling that you’re ready to consistently book dream photography clients who understand and respect your value? We would love to work with you, just like we did with Michelle, to make the appearance of your photography brand match the value of your work!

Showit is a creative website builder for photographers. It's also what we use for all of our design clients!

By the way, I'm not a photographer—I'm a designer and strategist FOR photographers. For the past 5 years, LYD has worked directly with a variety of photographers to not only create unique brands + websites for them, but to also ensure that those websites are getting consistent and relevant traffic.

This business runs on boy bands, pizza deliveries, & lots of reality TV.
