Your visual brand goes beyond just your logo and color palette. While those are both very important elements, it’s time to think about how your brand can be extended to other touchpoints with your clients. More specifically, during mini session seasons!
Mini sessions are photography sessions that are booked in smaller time increments, usually during a specific time of the year. Most common are fall mini sessions to prep couples + families for their holiday photos + cards. Mini sessions are a great way for photographers to meet + greet new couples + families to give them a sneak peek of their full sessions advertised all year! Sounds like a win-win, right?!
When marketing your photography business, specifically mini sessions, it’s important to make sure your brand stays cohesive throughout your promotional materials. Keeping on point with your color palette, fonts, and even using photos from favorite previous sessions are so important to making sure you attract the right audience for your minis and they recognize your biz instantly when seeing your ad!
Here are three ways you can promote your upcoming mini sessions – and how to make sure you show off your brand!
Ready to post on Instagram or Facebook about your upcoming mini sessions? Remember, you don’t have to be visible on all social media platforms. Find where your potential clients are and advertise there! Most importantly, make sure that your graphic is legible! Far too often, we see ads for minis that are not readable or there isn’t a clear “call to action” (or next step) for clients to take to book. Make it as easy on them as possible!
How can I use my visual branding when promoting minis in social media?
Use your logo, fonts, + colors in your branded graphics. You can post these graphics on Facebook posts, as a Facebook cover image, Instagram posts, or even Instastories! Make sure you use the right sizing for each type of graphic to keep everything very easy to read.
One of the best ways to get in front of your previous + prospective clients is to get in their email! We use MailerLite, since it’s free up to 1000 members and easy to put content together.
How can I use my visual branding when promoting minis in my newsletter?
Add graphics and easy to follow information in your newsletter to show off your upcoming mini sessions. Make it short + sweet, too! Let them know what is included in the session and lead them to a specific page, to email you, to call you, or however your process is setup to book minis. Again, make sure it’s super easy to follow!
Show off those mini sessions on your website! In fact, you can even have your clients BOOK their mini sessions on your website, if you take advantage of using a product like Acuity Scheduling or Calendly. Pssst, if you have a Squarespace website, Acuity Scheduling is free!
How can I use my visual branding when promoting minis on my website?
If you use Squarespace, add an announcement bar (Design -> Announcement Bar) to your site and make sure the background of it is one of your branding colors! You can have it click into a hidden page that talks all about your mini sessions. You can also showcase your minis on your services page for a limited time! Just be sure to go back and remove them when the time is up. 😉
